Madagascar - A Musical Adventure Kansas City Theatre reviews
Sting - Playing for Himself
Expectations were high having travelled almost 6000 miles from Aberdeen in the UK. We had considered Hollywood Bowl but done that a few years ago with Arcade Fire. The idea is fantastic and venue good. I must admit that I am not a die hard fan, although we had seen Madagascar - A Musical Adventure before and it was good. What we were looking for was everything a moderate fan would know with lots of up beat songs. His tales of behind some of the songs were great for the last 40 mins, but the previous 80 mins were self-indulgent and boring, although the orchestra were great. He played that for the last 40 mins and it was great, but the previous 80 mins were self-indulgence and boring. I would suggest he gets rid of the American accent before bringing the show to UK, name dropping at best on who he drinks with. The bit about his small home town on the Scottish/English border. Madagascar - A Musical Adventure - get your facts right before going back to Newcastle. I have told people to go and see because it is different, but not it is outstanding for other than Madagascar - A Musical Adventure Anoracks. My vote, having seen Dave Matthews Band in Europe earlier this year - go and see Dave Matthews. Ps - Turn the screens out at an angle.
